IAGE presented at the RNSPV 2022 congress (National Veterinary Public Health Meetings) co-organized by ALDIVA, ACLDPA, ASLAE and SNISPV, in poster format a developed, optimized and patented process of Digital-PCR measurements to simultaneously identify and quantify the presence of several pathogens in wastewater.
We showed the SARS-CoV-2 monitoring data in wastewater from the Montpellier agglomeration and the Thau basin obtained since the beginning of the pandemic.
These data are compared to the incidence rates obtained by the individual diagnosis.
We also demonstrate the ability of this method to identify and quantify the different variants of interest circulating during successive waves.
The results of these measures constitute a major new tool in the epidemic monitoring strategy.
