Biocontrol agents reduce the progression and production of Fusarium graminearum mycotoxins in wheat spikelets and straw.
In collaboration with the QualiSud Research Joint Unit specialized in the field of food processing, we have developed analytical methods that have evaluated the effectiveness of different biocontrol products on the pathogenic fungus Fusarium graminearum. This fungus is responsible for the loss of yield among producers but also for the production of mycotoxins that can call into question the market value of production. Two mycotoxins are likely to be produced by Fusarium graminarium: deoxynivalenol (DON) and zearalenone.
